Purchase your own ideal fingerboard(s) while last!
After more than six months of grueling paperwork, inspection, more paperwork, more inspections, and even testing, a CITES Export permit was finally issued and the first shipment arrived in our office this week. Of course, not after needing even further inspection and paperwork by US Customs and Border Protection, USDA, and the Department of Homeland Security, upon entry in the US, to make sure our shipment was legitimate. Despite the delay, we really appreciate that fact that all inspections and red tape have been legitimately cleared.
For those of you who are curious, a legitimate shipment of Brazilian Rosewood requires 3 permits, 1 declaration, and strict, complicated, lengthy legal procedures.
Want to re-export your guitar(s) made from our Brazilian Rosewood legally?
Yes, it can be done with our legitimate Brazilian Rosewood! The paperwork is strict and the procedures and lengthy and costly. But, YES it can be done!
Madeira, Inc.’s Brazilian Rosewood is legal, properly permitted, with paperwork to back it up. If you purchase our Brazilian Rosewood, we can assist you, for a reasonable fee, with the re-export process.
Informed luthiers should be aware that the price of Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard/Fretboards is disproportionally low compare to Acoustic sets. We suspect one reason to be the large amount of illegally imported or undocumented Brazilian Rosewood available and sold elsewhere, especially for Fingerboards pieces still available in US market. We simply cannot compete with the price of “illegal or undocumented” Brazilian Rosewood.
A Fingerboard is about 20% in volume and weight of an Acoustic set . Many of our Brazilian Acoustic Sets sell in the range of $650 to $1000 or more for a set. Ideally, therefore, we’d like to sell our Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboards for $130 to $200 each. We are aware that many of you are hesitant to pay that kind of price for Fingerboards even for our legally permitted and documented Brazilian Rosewood.
For this reason, we have decided to offer our legitimate shipment of Brazilian Rosewood to you at very low price. Through this SPECIAL SALE we hope to maintain the demand by luthiers for legal Brazilian Rosewood.
We truly believe this is an excellent and limited opportunity for you to purchase and stock genuine certified Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard (at our/MADEIRA’s expense).
You can select and purchase your own ideal fingerboard(s) from our Online Store:
Photos are actual photos or our product. “What You See Is What You Get” However, the photos tend to show it “lighter” than actual beautiful color of Brazilian Rosewood. Please consider and look at the top or bottom tip of the fingerboard where protective wax is applied for “finished look” for your selection.

We are pleased to be offering rare and high quality CITES-permitted Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards to the United States once again!
We are one of the select few companies with the capability to bring legally salvaged CITES Brazilian Rosewood from Brazil to the United States.
We have located a rare inventory of Brazilian Rosewood lumber in Europe which is neither pre-sold nor back-ordered to our current customers. Therefore, we can offer it to new customers who, until now, have been unable to purchase Brazilian Rosewood.
After six months of legal processing, we have acquired the necessary CITES export permit and certification for this inventory and we are ready to ship to the United States.
This high quality vintage Brazilian Rosewood was purchased before the
CITES ban of Brazilian Rosewood trade and held by a private luthier for his own stock. He has since retired from active lutherie and would like to make this high quality wood available to the public.
We have worked in strict compliance with CITES European, International and U.S. regulations, and have undergone inspection to ensure that this wood will comply with all legal regulations so that it can be legally sold and traded in the United States.
Please contact us if you are interested in this rare opportunity to purchase high quality, legally permitted and certified genuine Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards. If you have never purchased from us before, please be aware that our Brazilian Rosewood supplies sell out quickly, and it can take up to several months to obtain the certification for subsequent shipments.

Again, we bring one of most rare and premium quality tonewoods available to you!
We have sold off most of our African Blackwood in wholesale, however, we kept a few premium sets available in our online shop at very low price. You will not find this quality wood anywhere else with these special prices.
Our exclusive African Blackwood sets were selected and hand-picked from hundreds of logs. It will be very difficult for you to find similar quality of African Blackwood tonewood anywhere else currently.
African Blackwood is one of most dense woods in the world – more so than our Brazilian Rosewood. Many of our renowned luthiers claim that the tone quality of African Blackwood can be better than Brazilian Rosewood. Fine and closed grain, a beautiful finish can be achieved without “filling” pores.
Stop by our online shop to check out prices and photos of each set!
